It always begins with a vision and a desired lifestyle. It must absolutely begin this way, because without a vision, the Financial Advisor can't help you get there. At C.M. Carrillo Financial Advising, the beginning of our planning process involves focusing in on the client's vision for the future as well as the client's desired lifestyle. It is not for us to tell any client what his or her lifestyle should be, but we are always more than happy to help our clients discover what they truly want in life.
Identifying the various components that comprise one's vision and desired lifestyle can be challenging. Consider for a moment if a Financial Advisor were to say, "Tell me about your vision for the future, and tell me about your desired lifestyle." This is actually a very good question; however, it is not necessarily an easy question to answer because it is such an open-ended question. Consequently, navigating the process of identifying the various components that comprise one's vision and desired lifestyle can take time, and if takes time, that's alright. There is nothing wrong with that. And of course, sometimes the various components that comprise one's vision and desired lifestyle can change and evolve along with everything else that is taking place in one's life. Change is always a constant.
For some clients with exceptionally extravagant desires, we may have to bring them back down to reality a little bit. This is because at the end of the day, time and math are two aspects of reality that we must face. However, to other clients with exceptionally modest desires, we may say: "Dare to dream!" Whatever the case may be, one thing we know for sure is that the amount of time we are given to navigate this unpredictable adventure that we call life is such a precious and valuable commodity, mostly because it's finite. Once it's gone, we can never get it back. That is why we feel it is very important to help our clients quantify freedoms.
Quantifying Freedoms is a term that we use to help our clients understandhow much they can spend, not how much they can't.
You work hard for your money, so set aside some time to enjoy it!Make some magnificent memories!

"It is important to have passions in life. Passions are those interests of ours that exist on a much higher level. I have three passions in life. One is in the workplace. I absolutely love working with the financial markets. My other two passions exist outside of the workplace. One is Cardinals Baseball and the other is cooking."– C.M. Carrillo

"I have come to recognize that the more you learn about fashion and style, the more you realize it really isn’t all about the clothes. It’s about emotion. And because of this, developing and understanding one’s personal style can go a long way towards helping an individual feel more comfortable with how he or she is perceived by the world.Developing and understanding one’s style can build confidence, enhance the quality of one’s interactions with others, and ultimately enhance one’s quality of life."– C.M. Sprezzatura is an Italian word that first appears in Baldassare Castiglione's 1528 The Book of the Courtier, where it is defined by the author as"a certain nonchalance, so as to conceal all art and make whatever one does or says appear to be without effort and almost without any thought about it."

There are many things that could be said about the relationship between food and one's vision for the future, and there are many things that could be said about the relationship between food and one's desired lifestyle. Whether it's dreaming about what will be on the menu at your wedding reception or hoping you don't have to argue with your spouse about where tonight's takeout should come from, there is always something to say about food.
For example, whenever people have an opportunity to travel to a destination that has been on their bucket list for quite a while, one of the things they often look forward to is having the opportunity to enjoy the local cuisine. This helps them truly immerse themselves in the local culture and that can result in some magnificent memories and life experiences.
It is also interesting to think about how the aromas and tastes that certain foods produce can allow us to recall wonderful memories from the past. Sometimes food is capable of transporting us back to another time. For example, consider The Holidays. That is such a wonderful time of the year. Families and friends come together to celebrate and those happy times typically involve a nice spread.
Nostalgia: A sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations
Another example may involve one's desire to lose weight. Those that work within the world of Health and Wellness will tell you that you are what you eat and obtaining lasting results typically requires a lifestyle change, as opposed to merely a diet. As they say, the problem with all diets is that eventually they all die. On the other hand, a true lifestyle change can really have a meaningful impact on one's overall health.
At the end of the day, it is fair to say that we all have a unique relationship with food. We of course all have to eat in order to sustain ourselves, but food is such a substantial part of our daily lives that it can have a significant impact on our quality of life.
He who eats well lives well.

"The experience of sharing a meal with another can be something very special. The act of sitting down and breaking bread with another can be an intimate experience, it can be a romantic experience, and sometimes it can simply be a wonderful bonding experience. Sharing a meal with another can go a long way towards establishing a meaningful relationship with that person, and this is true when it comes to both personal and professional relationships.
Furthermore, the act of cooking and actually preparing a meal for another takes on an even deeper level of significance. This is especially true when an individual prepares a meal from scratch. Cooking from scratch of course is a more time consuming endeavor, which involves bringing together all of the necessary ingredients. And I happen to believe the most important ingredient in any dish is always the love. You see, preparing a meal for another can be a way in which to say, ‘I love you.’ And anytime one cooks with the love, that is what makes it possible to say that the food is of God. The love is what makes the food Holy. The love is what makes the food sacred. … After all, God is Love. Buon Appetito!"
– C.M. Carrillo

Skills can be taught and they can be learned; however, you are born with your God given talents. Therefore, the question inevitably becomes: Where do your skills, your talents, your interests, and your passions overlap? Ascertaining that can substantially enhance your quality of life.– C.M. Carrillo
Psychology is such an impactful field of study. Put simply, it is the study of the mind and behavior. There are numerous sub-fields within the world of psychology, each with its own focus. Within the context of relationships, understanding the mind as well as behavior can go a long way towards helping people avoid substantial relationship pitfalls.
A couple, for example, can significantly enhance the quality of their relationship if each individual makes an effort to understand how their partner's mind actually works. Successfully managing to do this can have a significant impact on one’s quality of life and it can potentially save a failing relationship.

"Recognizing and appreciating the little things can greatly enhance your quality of life, especially when you consider all of the beauty that exists all throughout the world. Take Italy for example. Italy is a magical place. The country is capable of inspiring a truly charmed lifestyle. The way in which they live in Italy is different. They don’t merely survive. They don’t merely exist. They live. ... It's the little things."– C.M. Carrillo
